“Superman” — Marco Mares

I love how this song sounds. Distant & filtered, almost sounds like a memory of a song. The autotune adds a hazy grain that exemplifies the song’s summer lullaby aesthetic.

“Guarapo y Flor” — Seba Otera, Bebe Dumont

A slider. Mimosa in hand, silk shirt open, ocean breeze in your face music.

“Vertigo” — Duckwrth

Black technomancer music. Stealy, covered in sweat and refuses to stop moving. A black Johnny Mnemonic.

“Good Dude” — Kaam Carson

Some of y’all will relate; most won’t.

“Let it rain” — Leven Kali

Prime roller rink music. Effervescent & subtle. Has hints of late 90s dance club music before the oversaturation of 2000s pop.

“cracked screen” — blackwave., Lute

The beat hooked me within seconds. Percussion rattles around like keys in a dryer, the kick hitting like the shoes. Lyrics ponder life with & without the need to always perform for the people in our little black screen.

“Channel Zero” — Raury

Man is flowing. An encouraging reminder to accept self & find peace. It can come across as cheesy but when shit hits at the right time, it’s undeniable. A fresh restart.

“COUNTERFFFIT” — William Crooks

Sounds like if the white kid from Toy Story grew up to be a rapper. Murky, hot, sewer music.

“Alien Love Call” Turnstile, BADBADNOTGOOD, Blood Orange

Floating SpongeBob meme. A wonderfully transportive collaboration that raises the hairs on my skin.

“Pretty Little Thing” — Jungle, Bas

Lonley man raps. Living confidently will have you trying to manage the emotions of those who lack it. Leaving folks behind to push your life’s story can be isolating but it’s a necessary step in the journey.
